How do I get a business certificate?
M.G.L. Chapter 110, Section 5 requires that any person conducting business in Massachusetts under any title other than the real name of the person conducting the business, must file a certificate with the office of the Town of Millis Clerk stating the full name and residence of each person conducting such business, the place where it is conducted and the title under which the business is conducted.
Business certificates cost $40 and are in effect for four years from the date of issue, after which they must be renewed.

Business Certificate must be signed in the presence of the Town Clerk. If unable to appear in person, signature must be witnessed by a notary.
