Who is the Millis Council on Aging?
MissionThe Millis Council on Aging was established to identify local needs of the community's elderly and handicapped residents, educate the community and enlist support in meeting those needs, promote and implement new services, and coordinate existing programs designed to meet the needs of our aging population.
BoardThe Council on Aging is a seven member board appointed by the Millis Selectmen. The board meets monthly at the Senior Center on the second Friday of the month at 9:30. All interested persons are invited to attend.
VolunteersThere are many volunteers who assist the Millis COA by delivering Meals on Wheels, distributing surplus foods, driving for medical appointments and shopping, making friendly visits and telephone re-assurance calls, providing office support, and collating our newsletter. Without our volunteers we could not offer all the services which we currently provide. Their hours of service and dedication are greatly appreciated! If you are interested in volunteering in some way, or you have a talent to share, please call the senior center at 376-7051 today! |
