The Millis Council on Aging offers transportation services to seniors and persons with disabilities who reside in the town. Transportation is offered via bus and volunteer drivers. Two buses are handicapped accessible with a hydraulic lift ramp.

All transportation is by appointment only. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance by calling the Senior Center at 508-376-7051.  Priority is given to medical appointments, such as doctor visits, lab work, etc. Transportation is also made available for weekly shopping trips to local shopping centers. Based on availability, transportation is offered to the Center for activities; nursing home visits, local hairdresser appointments, voting, post office, banking, town offices and the library.

The Senior Center must be advised of any changes or cancellations of appointments. After hours, messages can be left on the office answering machine.

Transportation services are available Monday through Friday, from 8:30am, until 2:30pm, excluding holidays. Expanded hours for scheduled medical appointments are possible, depending on driver availability and prior authorization.  We request that appointment times be no earlier than 8:00am, and no later than 2:00pm.

We reserve the right to require a personal caregiver to accompany an individual. Passengers riding the van must be fully capable of getting on & off the van with only minimal assistance from the driver. Please note that our drivers are not allowed to attend medical appointments with clients, this is the responsibility of the client, family member or caregiver.

COA transportation is partially funded through the town. In order to continue this much needed service, we do request donations. Suggested donations:  $2 per person per trip locally; $3 to Bellingham, Medway; $5 to Natick, Norwood, Milford, Newton, and $25 round trip, plus tolls and parking for Boston.

In the event that Millis schools are cancelled due to inclement weather, Council on Aging transportation will also be cancelled. Transportation may also be cancelled if the driver judges the conditions to be too hazardous.
